Most of the complications that I have seen over the years occurred months or years after having their surgeries. One of the most devastating complications of LASIK is corneal ectasia. This condition can occur 12 months to many years after LASIK. There is no way to determine beforehand if this life altering complication will occur after LASIK surgery.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037317198473782505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5806712963278024253.post-9029188057060593972014-11-05T14:29:18.457-08:002014-11-05T14:29:18.457-08:00While LASIK surgery can be successful under optimu...While LASIK surgery can be successful under optimum eye conditions, unfortunately many patients do experience side effects due to pre-existing conditions. The collagen or Lacrimal Plugs can either be temporary or permanent (but removal). I had them and did see more tear film stay within my eyelids but both got infected and I immediately had them removed. If you try them, I would start with the dissolvable/temporary collagen ones first and see how that works, trying one eye at a time and experimenting on various top and bottom nasal area plugs...good luck.
